YIN IMMERSION - AUTUMN | Saturday, March 1 2025

$45.00

Join Justine as she guides you through an immersive, healing yin yoga practice exploring the qualities of the season of Autumn.

Yin yoga is about finding stillness and cooling the body. This style of yoga is the stable, unmoving, hidden aspects of things. On the surface, a Yin practice might seem uneventful. But Yin yoga is a practice of interception, body awareness and going within.

Yin Yoga poses are held for around 3 to 8 minutes, and we gently stretch our the connective tissues during this time, so that the body will respond by making them a little longer and stronger. We stress the tissue, so that the body responds by strengthening it.

This is not a restorative practice, no. The attitude is very different in Yin - we soften, but we also look for our 'edge' and sit at the threshold with our discomfort. Yin Yoga is a mindful practice, we draw our attention inwards, connecting to and softening into the sensations within our body, while not allowing our mind to become attached to the sensations of discomfort.
